Show Some Shoulder

Processed with VSCOcam with t1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with t1 presetWell hello, March! I seriously can’t believe it’s March 1st already. February absolutely flewww by! I’m not complaining though, this recent Cali weather has been amaze. We spent almost all of this past weekend at the beach and I’m super stoked to announce that I’m officially no longer Casper the Friendly Ghost. I can’t wait to put my winter clothes away and make room for Spring!

One of my favorite looks has always been off-the-shoulder. And I love that this trend will be in full-force this Spring! The look manages to show-off an appropriate amount of skin and looks flattering on all body types. Plus, you can style this look so many different ways. Whether it’s a flouncy top with distressed skinny jeans or a fun, flirty boho-chic dress with ankle books, or even a sexy off-the-shoulder dress for a night out, the options are endless.

This trend can be a little intimidating, but it’s all about proportion. Finding the right top or dress that flatters your figure is key; and don’t be afraid to take a chance.

If you’re going with a fuller top, pair it with something more fitted on the bottom, like skinny jeans (the jeans I’m wearing are BlankNYC – I’m obsessed). Or for a fun, funky look, pair with some tight-fitting flared jeans (love these Generra Flare Jeans for only $64). Just make sure to always consider the proportions when wearing the oversized look – to avoid looking like you’re wearing a potato sack. You can also belt an oversized dress or even tie a jacket or flannel around your waist to show off your figure.

If you are bustier, consider wearing a more fitted off-the-shoulder dress or top or go for the cold shoulder style top – these look great on all body types. You could also opt for a flirty off-the-shoulder dress with a cinched waist paired with some pretty heels – one of my fave looks!

Side note: You don’t need small, perky boobs to rock this look. I mean, I’ve nursed two children, I don’t even know what those look like anymore. If you’re hesitant about going bra-less and hate strapless bras, try the NuBra from Nordstroms, I absolutely love mine. It provides a slight lift and allows you to sport those daring styles.

I like to rock large, dramatic earrings (kind of loving hoops right now) and go sans necklace. Or a long delicate necklace with simple earrings. Again, all about proportion. I’m also loving chokers , which would be perfect for this look.

If I’m going for the sexy, date-night dress, I would opt for a gorg statement necklace and some simple earrings.

  1. What size is the shirt you are wearing? I’m 5’8″ and 145 lbs and was thinking of ordering a medium but have been recently wearing smalls in some things. BTW .. I love your style!
