We’ve gone berry picking/eating two weekends in a row now and I’m definitely not mad about it! The girls had so much fun last weekend picking blueberries that we had to do it again. Delainey has been asking to go all week so rather than driving all the way down to Goleta like we did last weekend, we visited Rutiz Family Farms just minutes from our house and picked strawberries! Funny enough, the girls had these adorable strawberry dresses I’ve been wanting them to wear – it was totally meant to be, ha!
We challenged Delainey to see who could get the most strawberries and she took it a little too seriously! She got SO many.
Leighton on the other hand ate more berries than she put in her basket. She was able to roam freely and get dirty, which are two of her favorite things – so she was a happy girl.
I love that they use organic fertilizer and are pesticide-free, so I felt ok about the girls eating the berries.
It’s so amazing how after having kids, I explore more, try new activities, appreciate the simple things and generally just enjoy being outside more than I did before. I love how motherhood really expands your world in so many ways.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and has a great father’s day tomorrow!
