More berry picking fun! This time we brought our besties with us. We packed-up all the kiddos and headed down to Santa Barbara Blueberries (right off the 101, in between Buellton and Goleta) and enjoyed another full day of picking berries. We were expecting to pick blueberries, but since the season is pretty much over, we picked raspberries instead. I think I love the berry picking so much because it’s just so easy and stress-free. The kids can eat berries and roam free while us moms can actually chat.
After picking berries, we had a little picnic. The kids threw rocks, played in the dirt, climbed trees and played in a random outdoor sink – all the essentials of true country living. By the time we left, we were sweaty, hot and covered in dirt – but we can’t go to Santa Ynez without stopping at a winery (obviously). We stopped by Lincourt Vineyards, which is near Solvang. Sue, Kellie’s mom, works in the tasting room and took great care of all of us. We sat out on their beautiful lawn, sipped some delicious chard and played with the kiddos. Seriously perfect.
Being a mama has it’s challenges, but something that makes this mom life easier is having a tribe of supportive women right there with you. That’s exactly what these women are. I feel so fortunate that my girls and I are able to spend our days with these amazing friends and their precious kiddos doing whatever it takes to keep us ALL happy and entertained.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
